It is with great pleasure (and in the case of some of you, no little trepidation
. . .) that I welcome you to my blog. Most of you know that I am about to embark on a grand adventure, travelling the world, and I look forward to sharing my experiences (well, some of them anyway) with you.
It will no doubt take me a bit of time to "find my voice", especially with what should be a pretty wide-ranging audience, and I am a complete novice at this blogging thing, so do bear with me. Any (reasonable) comments on how to improve the blog are very welcome, but do remember that I'm supposed to be on vacation so please don't ask too much.
Anyway, I need to get back to packing, or I won't even make it to the starting line.

Don't worry about holding our attention, but write what feels right for YOU -- it's your adventure, after all. May it be exceedingly wonderful!!
